There are a few differences that make it easy to identify if your Lindert is the real US-made deal.
- The Import will have a smooth finish while the US version with usually have a textured surface. This only applies to the models with the cut-outs on the front.
- Imports will have a standard neck and the US ones often feature the “Escape Velocity” neck which curves your hand around as you move to the higher frets.
- Headstock decal. Lindert liked to place them parallel with the headstock edge whereas the imports were parallel to the strings.
- Serial numbers on imports often were 7 digit numbers starting with “901” (i.e.: 901xxxx)
