How to tell the USA models from imports

There are a few differences that make it easy to identify if your Lindert is the real US-made deal.

  1. The Import will have a smooth finish while the US version with usually have a textured surface. This only applies to the models with the cut-outs on the front.
  2. Imports will have a standard neck and the US ones often feature the “Escape Velocity” neck which curves your hand around as you move to the higher frets.
  3. Headstock decal. Lindert liked to place them parallel with the headstock edge whereas the imports were parallel to the strings.
  4. Serial numbers on imports often were 7 digit numbers starting with “901” (i.e.: 901xxxx)
